Fresh green bean bundles & grilled burgers!

My most favorite things to grill in the world!
Burgers and fresh green beans--with bacon!

Burgers. I love burgers. Especially with blue cheese crumbles and bacon and tomato! YUM!
Alright well were grilling burgers tonight and I'm really looking forward to these!

You will need:
1.5 lb ground turkey
2 Tbs.Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Cavender's Greek Seasoning
1 tsp. Tony Chachere's Seasoning

You will then...
*Make sure you have our grill heating up*
Mix this all together by hand in a large bowl.
Next make into small patty's to fit on the bun, because unlike
ground beef, Turkey is lean and will not shrink in size on the grill.
Once the grill is HOT and ready to go place the patty's on the grill
surface closest to the fire and cook till done.

I am in L-O-V-E with this next recipe!
I had bacon I needed to use and thought, what would go great, grilled with bacon?
And then I had a duh! moment...fresh green beans. So here's what I did.

You will need:
2ish handfuls of FRESH green beans in the produce section
1 pkg of bacon (i like apple wood or hickory smoked)
EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
Salt and Pepper

Step1. rinse off your fresh green beans and take off any stems that might still be attached.
Step 2. cut your bacon strips in half, short ways.  You should have two halves about 3" long.
Step 3. Wrap 3-4 green beans with bacon around the middle. The bacon will hold them together.
Step 4. Once all  your beans are wrapped, sprinkle/drizzle your bundles with EVOO and add
salt and pepper.
Step 5. Place them on your charcoal grill with a little space in between. I sometimes prefer to place them  on a top rack if possible or around the edges.  Grill about 15-20 depending on how you like your bacon, I like my crispy so I grill them a little longer.

**The reason I say charcoal grill is because if you use gas I don't think you need very much EVOO at all. Near disaster when I used EVOO on a gas grill the last time. Yikes! So if you use gas don't use much EVOO. You can just use a dab and be SURE to place then on the top rack.

Let me know how you liked these!!
 Bon Appetit!

Alright- here we go!

I can't guarantee that you will be delivered 365 meals.
You as well as myself have the occasional eating out meal when your in a hurry
or just need a change of pace, correct? Especially living in the city
when you have a plethora of new restaurants opening weekly and
somewhere in the range of 6000-8000 just in the Houston area!

So I hope you enjoyed the meals I prepare or even just sometimes a snack.
I generally cook for 3-4 even though it's just the two of us.  The hubbs,
as does any man, generally eats more than two baby carrots and a 4oz. piece of {insert choice of meat}!

So with out further delay were going to start out with a variation of

Lasagna Pasta

I forgot to take pictures along the way but the recipe is SO simple.
And it's as delicious as it sounds....
It's kind of lasagna in a pan.

You will need:
16oz pkg of Bowtie or Penne Rigate noodles
1.5 lb of ground turkey
1 jar of sauce-I like Prego, Bertolli or Classico of any kind
1/2 cup sour cream or cream cheese
1 tsp. Italian Seasonings
Mozzarella Cheese, grated

*If you use cream cheese, I mixed a tsp of lemon juice to make it a little more like sour cream.*

Here's what you do:
Step1. Brown your ground turkey, add Italian seasonings and season to taste.
While cooking turkey, prepare noodles as directed on the package.
Step2. When turkey is done cooking, drain and add your sauce and cream cheese or sour cream.
Stir all together. Add your grated Mozzarella cheese and allow to simmer for 5 mins.
Step3. When doodles are finished drain and mix in with the meat sauce and enjoy!!

Bon Appetit!

Avocado Sandwich

Avocado Sandwich.
This is something I literally lived off of in college for 4 years.
They made them at a little coffee shop right off campus.
They are seriously amazing!!!

You will need:
1/2 ripe avocado
Green leafy lettuce
Cream Cheese
2 tsp. Ranch Dressing
1 jar of Black Olives
1 Tomato
2 slices of bread (I prefer whole grain wheat)

Here's what you do:
Slice your avocado, olives and tomato. I only use half of an avocado because it's hard
to fit a whole one on there.  I use a small handful of olives and 1-2 slices of a large tomato.
Rinse your lettuce, you'll only need 1-2 pieces.
Next, smear some cream cheese on your bread. (I like a lot).
Then top with avocado, tomato, ranch, olives, and lettuce.
Slap on the other piece of bread and Voila!

Hope you enjoy this sandwich as much and I do!
